Job Summary

Data Decisions Group is searching for a Market Research Project Manager for our Chapel Hill, NC office.  Our Project Manager will help our clients solve their business problems through thoughtfully designed and executed primary marketing research.  He/she also will support and enhance direct marketing campaigns through primary and secondary research specifically tailored for our clients marketing campaigns to increase their effectiveness.  In addition to these custom surveys and other data sources, the Project Manager maintains a highly collaborative relationship  with our clients, and provides both tactical and strategic recommendations based on the research we conduct.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the absolute quality of the project and the client’s satisfaction
  • Owner of the day-to-day management of market research projects, including client management, schedule management, and coordination of different DDG departments and outside suppliers
  • Responsible for management of project budget and adherence to profitability requirements
  • Proficient in working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Able to handle multiple projects at once
  • Experienced in web data collection, with an understanding of other research data collection methods
  • Understanding of best practice sampling methods
  • Excellent quality control skills – able to validate questionnaire logic, and check programming and data deliverables for errors
  • Able to design a marketing research project from start to finish, including questionnaire design and construction and associated analysis of end results
  • Experience working as the primary contact with end-user clients
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience working with SQL, SPSS, R, JMP, or SAS 
  • Familiarity with marketing database applications and combining files from disparate sources
  • Perform quality control on deliverables including data files and reports

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10-15 years of market research experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, high energy, team player
  • Organizational skills with particular attention to detail
  • MS Office— advanced skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Must pass background check
  • Travel as needed within assigned US territory

Beneficial Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative or business discipline
  • Experience writing, presenting, and closing proposals
  • Already has a book of client work that could become our clients
